Lorna update

Lorna is recovering slowly.   The wound was so deep, encompassing a large area of tissue damaged and bone exposed to the elements, that we have had to keep her bandage on for such a long time with frequent changes.    The wound is healing and she certainly has no problems using that leg but it is a very, very slow process.   Currently we are looking for a foster home who can monitor her healing and monitor her need to wear an E-Collar 24/7.   Yes, we took it off for these photos but she currently has to wear two - one small one and a larger one to keep her from tearing off the bandage and licking her leg.    She is so sweet, and just loves everyone and every dog she meets.    She's an active girl for an estimated 8 year old - I'm sure she was a very, very active young dog. She certainly isn't an older mellow kid and could keep up with brisk walks and hikes once she is cleared for adoption.

Fortune finds a home!

Congratulations to Fortune for finding out his new home. We are happy to share the news that this boy is doing beautifully in his new home. There is someone home with him most of the time, which is the perfect arrangement for a puppy. The whole family thinks he's great.

Treatment successful for Fortune!

Fortune has completed his treatment for Puppy Strangles. He has now been cleared to have his neuter surgery and will then be ready for adoption. Fortune is doing great! He came into rescue barely able to stand up and with open sores on his face. As you can see in the picture, all the sores have cleared up and he now has an endless supply of energy. Fortune thanks everyone who has donated to his care. He is a very happy boy.
