Good news for Kopper

Kopper's large mass was biopsied and was found to be benign.  We waited a few weeks for Kopper to gain some weight and get stronger before scheduling her surgery.  Kopper had her surgery this past Thursday and it went very well.  I visited with Kopper yesterday and she was up and about and was anxious to go outside for a short walk.  She had a very long incision so it will take a while before Kopper can discontinue her pain medication.  The doctor wants Kopper to stay under his care for a few more days and then she can go to a loving foster home to continue her recuperation.  Kopper has made many friends at the vet's office.  Everyone keeps remarking about what a wonderful dog she is.  As soon as Kopper is feeling her best, we'll be on the look out for a loving forever home for her.

Chloe puppy feeling better

I drove to the vets this morning to visit with Chloe. Yesterday she had a rough day and had me worried but today, I walked in the door and I could hear her barking. She was feeling better today. Her temperature is normal and while she is not wanting to eat, she on the other hand is not vomiting or having diarrhea. I know this is a roller coaster ride but we just hope that she is strong enough to survive. I'll be checking on her this weekend and will take updated photos. Thanks for all the support we have received.

Very sick puppy...Chloe update

I just spoke to the doctor this morning and Chloe is definitely showing Parvo symptoms. She is not barking like she was doing yesterday, is now drooling and having some diarrhea. We are doing some more tests to see how her little body is fighting this terrible disease and also giving her medication to help with her nausea. Keep her in your thoughts as she needs all the help she can get to fight her battle.

Meet puppy Chloe

Chloe came in to rescue today after receiving a call that she had tested positive for Parvo and needed help. I want to thank our volunteer who jumped right in, on a moment's notice, and ran to pick her up early this morning. By mid-day she was at the vets starting treatment. We currently have done a blood test, and put her on IV fluids, antibiotics, medication to help with her nausea, and lots of constant TLC and monitoring. I want to thank our volunteer who picked her up and also a big thanks to the veterinary hospital where she is located for getting everything ready for her intake on a moments notice.
