Chance ready for foster home

Chance has done wonderful in his recovery and is now ready to go to his foster home. His incision has healed well, and he is taking longer walks, enjoying his time with all the volunteers who come in to spend time with him, and is now ready to go home. I want to thank everyone who sent their well wishes, supported him in his recovery and cared about this wonderful senior Golden. His personality is what everyone wants in a Golden.

Chance's drains are out - he's doing great!

Today Chance had his bandages and drains removed and he is doing so much better. If you see some drainage near his rear that is ok but is caused because he wags his tail so much. He is a happy, happy boy. If he continues to improve, he may be able to go to a foster home this coming weekend. He is not just sitting around all the time now in a kennel as he has visitors all day long that come in and spend time with him. He is quite the Star. I am so happy we gave Chance a chance.

Chance looking good!

Chance is continued to recovery. He has this bandage on now due to the drains in his incisions. They need to be protected. The bandage is there also to absorb the seepage. Chance is happy, eating well, enjoys attention and just a very, very sweet boy. His skin is healing some but that will be a long process. He has been diagnosed with "dry eye" which has been going on for years and his eyesight is not that good. He will be having a visit with the eye specialist once he is in his foster home and we are able to remove the stitches. One thing at a time for this boy. The biopsy came back and we have clean margins and a good prognosis. That was wonderful news for this boy. So our next plan is to move him to his foster home when the doctor has declared he can be moved. In the meantime, he is enjoying visits from all the volunteers who have been working with him and charming everyone especially the KOAGR.

Chance's surgery - WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTOS

Today is Chance's big day. All test results came back good and he was having his surgery today to remove this enormous mass. He did well during his surgery, which was very long, and we are so pleased that all went well. The mass was 4.2 pounds and the whole mass was sent off for biopsy. We will get those results next week. He was resting well in the evening.
