Lorna is now in rescue and receiving daily bandaging. The vets have said she will be receiving wet and dry bandages alternately. If we are successful, and no infection develops, she will have a good recovery. Right now we are mainly concerned about not getting any infection into that bone, because with car strikes there is always the possibility that a lot of dirt gets into the wound.
We have learned that Lorna loves everyone and is very good with other dogs that she has met. She's a such a sweet girl, despite her current situation. The veterinary staff at Santa Margarita Animal Care Center and her loyal GRCGLA Rescue volunteers, who visit with her daily, are doing a fantastic job monitoring her care and giving her lots of love and exercise.
Lorna is looking forward to the new year and hopefully she will be able to go to a foster home soon to prepare her for official adoption.
