Keisha's recheck

Keisha was brought back to the veterinary hospital for a recheck and x-rays to see how she was healing. She is happy and when you look at her leg, you do not see the surgery site because it was all done on the inside of her leg. She was sedated and x-rays were taken to make sure the apparatus was in place. She is feeling much better and loves the attention. As each week progresses, she can have short walks starting with 5 minutes and then increasing by 5 minutes up to 45 minutes at 8 weeks post-surgery. All these walks are now with use of the sling. At 8 weeks, she can gradually start walking with the assist of the sling but still use it if needed for support.

Keisha will still be required to have x-rays taken every month until she is completely healed. Once totally healed, she may be required to go in to water therapy to help with her movement.
