Peggy Sue is now venturing outside with no problems. We are still taking for short walks as there is some drainage from her surgery. She loves to spend her time outside just soaking up the sun and getting her pats and hugs. Tomorrow is a big day with her going to her foster home for recuperation and quiet time.

Peggy Sue came thru her surgery with flying colors. She is relaxing here being hand fed today. Food was not a big priority for her this morning and someone came in with a cheeseburger that was scrumptious and well received. Walks are short and she is having no trouble with them. I'm sure in the next day or two she will be running up and down the back stairs at the vets with no trouble. They did not bother her prior to the amputation.

Peggy Sue recovering from surgery

Peggy Sue had her surgery today and is now recovering. As you can see, she received a lot of attention both before and after the surgery. This is just the sweetest girl and hopefully, will make a quick recovery. Thanks go out to Dr. Kelpe and the staff at Santa Margarita Animal Care Center for all their help and for caring about this special girl. We will be getting her up to walk tomorrow morning and hopefully, she will be ready for a foster home this coming weekend to complete her recovery.

Peggy Sue needs a surgery

Peggy Sue arrived in rescue this afternoon. This sweet 2-3 year old girl has a right front leg that is deformed. From all appearances and x-rays she apparently has not had the use of this leg since birth. It has atrophied and is carried up and crossed most of the time. Her personality is extremely sweet and loves everyone who comes to give her attention. We are currently scheduling surgery to have this leg amputated so that she can be recuperated and on to her new forever home.

Beau heads to foster care

This morning his foster mom, Sue, got the final instructions from Dr. Miles and off they went to have a good time. Everyone at the vet's this morning was in there giving him extra love and hugs. I think everyone also had to take him for his special walks. He enjoyed the attention so much. He'll be posted on the available dogs page in a day or so. He is definitely good with other dogs both big and little. Cats are fine with him also. Keep your eyes open for his listing on the available page.
