Keisha update

I went to visit Keisha this morning. Her surgery was 4/24 and she was still on IV's this morning when I came in. She is doing well, eating ok - on a diet right now to remove some weight - and on the road to recovery. Family Member Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Glover and his staff, have taken very good care of her. If she continues to do well then she will be going to a foster home to recover. It is a long recovery and she will be on limited exercise to give her leg time to heal. She is such a sweet girl and enjoys people coming in to spend time with her. She deserves to have a good recovery and have a good life.

Rest in peace Shauna

Shauna started showing the devastating signs of Distemper this past week and unfortunately, lost her battle with this terrible disease today. Please keep this sweet, little girl in your thoughts when you hug your own furry friends. She left us way too soon.

Keisha update

Keisha is feeling a little better and we are now arranging for her surgery to repair her leg. She has been bathed, had multiple mats trimmed and her infected ears medicated. She is now on pain meds and glucosamine to help her be more comfortable. Updates will be sent when we arrange her surgery.

Shauna doing well

I just called to check on her this morning and she continues to do well, eating on her own and active.   We will see from day to day how she is doing and hopefully, I will be reporting favorably this coming week.    She is a cutie and we are all hoping for the very best for her.

Shauna update

I went to visit with Shauna today and she was happy and quite vocal.   She continues to eat and drink very well on her own.   She is now located at Pacific Coast Veterinary Hospital and receiving excellent care and monitoring.

Jax's recheck

Jax had his recheck and was doing very well. We have been told that he can have a relatively normal life in the right home that understands his limitations. Why did he have this issue, we will never know, but he is a happy boy and will be available for adoption in several weeks to the right home.

Shauna in rescue

Shauna was picked up by one of our volunteers and driven to a vet that would be managing her care.   She again, was a perky girl when picked up and at that time not running a fever.   Upon arrival and after her vet check, she was determined to be running a fever but did continue to eat and drink on her own.   She is an adorable little girl and we can only hope from day to day to received favorable reports on her progress.

Meet Shauna

We received information that a pup was in need at a local shelter and had been diagnosed with potential Distemper.   Our rescue quickly went in to action and our sweet Shauna was picked up before close of business that evening and quickly taken to an emergency 24 hour hospital for care overnight.   She was a perky little girl and hopefully, she would continue to be that way.

Meet Keisha

Keisha arrived in rescue and oh what a sweet girl. She had trouble with walking when she arrived and over the next week we took x-rays, blood work, and other tests to determine what she needed to help her be more comfortable. After the x-rays were taken and the veterinarian had examined her, it was determined that she would need surgery to repair her left leg which has a torn interior cruciate ligament. She has been put on pain meds and it was also found that her thyroid level was extremely low so she is now on medication.
