Lorna update

Lorna is now in rescue and receiving daily bandaging. The vets have said she will be receiving wet and dry bandages alternately. If we are successful, and no infection develops, she will have a good recovery. Right now we are mainly concerned about not getting any infection into that bone, because with car strikes there is always the possibility that a lot of dirt gets into the wound.

We have learned that Lorna loves everyone and is very good with other dogs that she has met. She's a such a sweet girl, despite her current situation. The veterinary staff at Santa Margarita Animal Care Center and her loyal GRCGLA Rescue volunteers, who visit with her daily, are doing a fantastic job monitoring her care and giving her lots of love and exercise.

Lorna is looking forward to the new year and hopefully she will be able to go to a foster home soon to prepare her for official adoption.

Meet Lorna

GRCGLARescue was first made aware of this poor girl at a local shelter and after contacting them we discovered she had been taken to the shelter after being hit by a car. Her right front leg had an injury all the way down to the bone. When no one came to get her, she came in to our rescue organization. We have named her Lorna.

Ruby is ready to go home

Our sweet Ruby is doing wonderfully in her foster home. As you can see, she looks terrific and is now ready for adoption. She is still on medications for her allergies but with the proper care, she will do great in a new forever home. She is a fun dog, loves to run up and down the stairs, plays with the other dogs in the foster home, and has just the sweetest personality. I always say these little red Goldens are like "energizer bunnies". She loves her walks and happily goes on them with her tail wagging. Our Ruby has never met a stranger yet - Everyone is her friend. Thanks go out to all that supported her and closely followed her recovery. She came to us such poor condition and had lost that shine in her personality. Now it's back!

Carter continues to improve...

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Carter at the local Starbucks. What a gentleman, so sweet and he just loved everyone that came to give him attention. He is still having some issues with his skin and is in a foster home that is right on top of his medical needs. Carter is such a regal gentleman and I count my blessings that I have been involved in his recovery. When he is ready for his forever home, Carter will be hoping for a family that is willing to manage his skin issues. It is obvious that this boy has had homes previously that did not watch his medical need hence when he came to us, he was in terrible condition. He's a true diamond.
